URGENT action is needed to tackle transport challenges across the district, according to a campaigner.
Liberal democrat prospective parliamentary candidate Mike Bell says he has welcomed the publication of Our Future Transport by local authorities in the South West.
But he says the document, which outlines how transport links should progress in the region in the future, does not offer solutions to problems affecting Weston residents at the moment.
Mr Bell said; "This document is a good start and I hope the Government will respond positively, with cash, to the ideas put forward.
"However, the proposals fall well short of what is required for Weston in the immediate future.
"The focus on improving public transport in regard to bus services and rail links at Worle Parkway are right.
"However, we cannot stick our heads in the sand on Weston beach and pretend that solutions aren't also needed in the management of traffic.
