A FLAGSHIP project in Weston has been praised for its 'great architecture and design.'The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) has included The Campus in Locking Castle in its Festive Five Awards.Every year CABE gives an award to only five individuals, five public sector organisations and five private companies across the country to mark forward thinking. This year the awards focussed on school design and inclusive design.A CABE spokesman said: "The Campus combines a primary school and nursery, a school for children with special needs, a library, a council one stop shop, meeting rooms, sports and changing facilities, a skateboard park and hydrotherapy pool. North Somerset Council has succeeded in providing facilities for different sectors of the community under one roof in an inspiring, accessible and inclusive environment which creates a new focal point for the area."Since The Campus opened in September 2004 it has also picked up awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.North Somerset Council leader, Councillor Alan Hockridge, said: "We are delighted that The Campus has been recognised with its third prestigious national award. "It's a tremendous building providing a wide range of services to the local community.
