TWO cancer charity supporters volunteers from Weston were invited to Westminster to a parliamentary event.
Simon and Gail Nancholas joined the town’s MP John Penrose at Macmillan Cancer Support’s event this month.
The event was organised to allow people to share experiences and concerns relating to local cancer care.
Mr Penrose said: “Listening to the views of cancer patients and their carers is absolutely vital if we want to have the right system in place to support them and give them best medical care possible.
“As this Macmillan question time highlighted, more and more people will be confronted with cancer in the course of their lives, whether it affects them personally or their loved ones, so this is rightly a major priority for NHS doctors and for the Government.
“We’ve already made a lot of progress but it’s also good to hear about the things we still need to improve on.”
