CANNABIS plants worth at least £480,000 were seized by police at two Weston properties last week as part of an on-going drugs operation.
Each property contained a cannabis factory, which totalled 856 plants combined.
Officers from the Serious Crime Group entered properties in George Street and Ashdene Road on September 29.
The cannabis factories found were thought to have been tended by gardeners living there, although no-one was home at either property when police arrived.
No-one has yet been charged but police say their investigation is ongoing.
The seizures were made as part of Operation Viscount, which has been running for two weeks and has already seen almost £1million of drugs destroyed and 15 arrests made.
Paul Bunt, head of the Force Drugs Strategy, said: “This is a great start to our campaign. We will be carrying out more warrants over the coming months to clamp down on cannabis cultivation in Avon and Somerset.
“We launched the operation to disrupt and dismantle this type of criminal activity and send out a clear message that the cultivation or supply of drugs will not be tolerated in the Avon and Somerset force area.
“Officers continue to clamp down on cannabis across Avon and Somerset. This seizure demonstrates that we are getting results. All of these plants have been destroyed and we will be proactively seeking those responsible for their cultivation. Anyone with any information on drugs supply in their area should contact police on 0845 4567000.”
