Car fails to stop after hitting cyclist

A CYCLIST ended up in hospital after being hit by a car in Weston last week.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision on Friday morning.

It happened at about 8.40am on the roundabout between Winterstoke Road and Drove Road and the car failed to stop.

The 40-year-old cyclist was riding from Hildesheim Bridge towards Winterstoke Road, when he was hit by the car coming from the Drove Road Bridge, towards Drove Road.

He was knocked off and suffered grazes and bruises, needing treatment at Weston General Hospital.
