COMMUTERS in North Somerset have saved more than £2,000 during a challenge to reduce the number of car journeys they take.
The Big Commuting Challenge started on June 16, to encourage more people to walk, cycle, lift-share or use public transport as part of their daily commute.
Car journeys have been reduced by 21 per cent, and each person has saved an average of £22.50 a month which would usually have been spent on fuel.
People are still able to sign up to the scheme, either as an individual or organisation, by visiting www.thebigcommute.getmeactive.org.uk/users/register
