A Weston care home has become one of the only residential homes in North Somerset to hold an ‘outstanding’ rating from a health watchdog.

Heathwood Care Home, in Trewartha Park, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission in October and it found the care home was outstanding in two of the five inspection categories, and overall.

The report praised the home for helping people maintain their independence, safety and help them feel at home.

It said: “Staff took time and knew how to engage with people to find what really mattered to them.”
