A Weston-super-Mare carer had her hair shaved off last week in memory of a former colleague and friend.
Mandy Smith, aged 54, took part in a Brave The Shave event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
It took place at Gardenia Court Nursing Home, in Uphill Road North, where she works, on Friday.
She was surrounded by colleagues, friends and family as her hair was shaved off by nursing home manager Neela Nauth.
Mandy took part in Brave The Shave in memory of her friend and colleague Sandra, and has raised £250 for Macmillan so far, with donations still coming in.
The shave was followed by tea, cakes, a raffle and music in the home.
Mandy said after the shave: “I feel much lighter and will feel the cold more.”
Mandy and Neela rounded off the fundraising by taking part in Weston Hospicecare’s Midnight Beach Walk, which started in the early hours of Saturday morning.
