THE Burnham carnival is fast approaching and chairman of the town's carnival committee has said it's 'all systems go' for the big event next month.

Chairman Phillip New hopes to get a crowd of 20,000 for the carnival on November 7. He said: “Everything is going to plan and the float themes have been picked. We could always do with a couple more marshals and collectors, but apart from that it’s all systems go.”

The town will be able to see a variety of themed floats presented by the local clubs such as, flying machines, an international flying circus and a haunted house.

The Ritz Club, in Victoria Street, Burnham, is also offering people the chance to watch the carnival live on screen from the comfort of the Ritz.

A video camera situated on the roof will send live pictures of the carnival procession to two big TV screens in the bar. There is no charge for admission and the carnival procession will begin at 7.30pm. For more information call the club on 01278 785365.
