BURNHAM Lions club has kicked off the search for a carnival queen and two princesses for this year's Burnham and Highbridge Carnival.

A competition to decide who will represent the town at the carnival on November 7, will take place at The Princess Theatre and Art Centre on July 30, starting at 7.15pm.

Potential queens should be aged 16 or over, while princesses should be between seven and 15.

The prize for the winning carnival queen entrant will be £300, and £100 for the princesses.

Admission to the event costs £3 for adults and £1 for children aged under 16, with tickets available on the door.
