CARS were seized during a police operation in Weston's town centre on Saturday.
Using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, the police team for the town centre carried out a high-visibility operation to catch those driving without insurance. As a result, three vehicles were stopped and seized.
The team also handed out 17 fixed penalty notices for parking offences and another 15 for people failing to wear seat belts.
Sergeant Mark Raby said: “Drivers who risk driving without insurance can cause enormous amounts of misery for people who suffer personal injury or damage to their property. If they are caught, as well as being prosecuted where they can face fines and penalty points, we will seize uninsured vehicles.
“We are also determined to send a message that illegal parking and unsafe driving will not be tolerated in the town and if you run the risk, you can expect to be caught.”
