A SPECIAL drop-in for mums breastfeeding new babies has opened in Portishead.Cafe Mamma, which stands for Mothers Advocating Mothers Milk Association, opened this month and will run each Tuesday from 4 Coombe Road from 10-11.30am. The cafe project, funded by a £4,600 Awards for All Lottery Grant, follows on from the successful helpline which was set up in December 2005 by a group of mums to give advice on breastfeeding. The new cafe will have trained midwives on hand as well as local mums to give advice on breastfeeding.Cafe Mamma spokesman Isobel Jones said: "The cafe will be a drop-in and a safe environment for people to breast-feed and talk to other mums about the issues of breastfeeding."This will provide a facility for people who don't necessarily want to ring the hotline and would rather chat face to face with other mums and experts including midwives."For more information contact the helpline on 07816 366370.
