Paramedics and a community responder treated a woman near black rock in Cheddar Gorge after an incident occurred at around 2:20pm yesterday.
She was around half a kilometre from a road and a 4x4 vehicle was soon mobilised from Cheddar fire station, as there was no road access suitable for the vehicles of the initial responders.
An air ambulance was unable to attend the scene due to the presence of lightning..
Fire crews were eventually able to assist in transferring her into a road ambulance.
