Cat left to starve in empty house

A SEVERELY malnourished cat was found locked inside a rented house in Somerset after the tenant had left.
The four-year-old Persian, called Gypsy, was rescued by an RSPCA inspector who visited the property after receiving calls from concerned neighbours.
She was taken from the house in Street to the RSCPA centre in Brent Knoll, where she was immediately looked after.
Fortunately, when scanned the cat was found to be micro-chipped and following checks it was discovered the cat had gone missing two years ago.
The RSPCA inspector was delighted to reunite the thin and hungry cat with her delighted family who will nurse her back to health.
The animal charity cannot reveal exactly where she was found, as the cat’s poor health and abandonment is subject to an ongoing investigation.
