A HEARTBROKEN pet owner is becoming increasingly concerned about the safety of cats in Clevedon after her puss disappeared - only to return home with its fur shaved off.Stevie Butler has been fruitlessly searching for her two-year-old cat Sonny after it disappeared from her home last July. The much loved family pet initially went missing for 24 hours and then returned with a large amount of his fur shaved off. Then he disappeared completely last September and Stevie has been searching for him ever since.Ms Butler, a mum of two, said: "In July he disappeared for 24 hours and then came home in a very distressed state with a lot of his fur shaved off."He had undergone quite a severe haircut."He then disappeared again in September and we have not seen him since and we think someone has taken him."Mrs Butler, who has since moved to Canons Gate, has been back to Brookfield Walk where she previously lived, to put up posters appealing for information about Sonny. She added: "It seems a bit strange and while I have been out searching for him, I have heard reports of other cats going missing and coming home with their fur shaved."Clevedon Police Community Support Officer Linda Richards said she would like to hear from anyone who had experienced the same problems with an animal.PCSO Richards said: "It is bizarre that this has happened on more than one occasion and I would like to hear from anyone who has experienced a similar incident or who has information.
