An appeal for a new digital scanner at Weston General Hospital has reached £150,000.

The hospital’s League of Friends and Weston Area Health NHS Trust launched the appeal to raise £400,000 just under a year ago.

A chairman’s dinner will be held next month to thank supporters and raise additional funds.

It will take place at Worlebury Golf Club, in Monks Hill, on April 22 from 7.30pm to midnight.

People will enjoy a three-course dinner, entertainment and a raffle, where prizes include spa days and trips to the theatre.

To book tickets, priced £35 per person or £31.50 for tables of six, eight or 10, call 01934 636363 using the extension number 3160 or email wnt-tr.fundraising@nhs.net
