A charity football match saw people don their finest fancy dress to raise money for a children’s charity.

The kick around at Clifton College Sports Ground in Abbots Leigh raised more than £1,275 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michael’s Hospital, in Bristol.

The cash will go to its Cots For Tots programme, which provides accommodation for parents at the hospital.

It was organised by Andrew Sutera of Locking whose daughter Arianna was born almost three-and-a-half-months early with extremely under-developed lungs.

Andrew said: “The help and support we received, both from NICU doctors and nurses and Cots For Tots House, helped us get through some very difficult times.

“Unfortunately due to the weather we had fewer people than expected but we all had a great time.

“Thanks to everyone who has donated.”
