It was a tense time at the cheeky annual Penny Chuffing competition in Wedmore last week.Regulars at the New Inn were treated to a rear view of competitors clenching a coin between their bottom cheeks, waddling across the pub and then squatting to drop 2p coins in a pint glass. After posting the fastest time, winner Clive Mills said: "I'm chuffed to bits on winning this mostprestigious award."Fraser and Stephanie Craig managed to carry a record breaking 16 coins into their pint glass. It was also the first time in 69 years that the competition had been won by someone so short - a reported 3ft 4in. The winner of the competition received £69 and the runner-up got a nice sit down.
