Change at practices after survey

PUBLISHED: 16:00 13 August 2012

A VILLAGE practice has revealed more than nine out of ten of its patients are happy with its medical care, according to a new survey.

Axbridge and Wedmore surgeries have implemented changes after their Patient Participation Group’s recent survey.

It found that 95 per cent of patients were satisfied with access to medical care and 83 per cent were satisfied with the surgeries’ opening hours.

Some patients said they felt they may be overheard talking about confidential issues when talking to reception staff – so patients can now request to speak to reception staff in a private area.

The practices now also allow patients to book appointments further in advance and have put up fliers to make people aware of the surgeries’ opening times.
