A NEW development in Axbridge could soon be named after a well-known family in the town.
Developers who have built housing to the south of Old Manor House in High Street have asked councillors to consider an appropriate name for the site.
The name suggested by the planning committee was Chards Garden, as the Chard family have lived in the town for generations.
Councillors will approach the family first before suggesting it as a suitable name for the development.
