THESE youngsters from St Georges Community Church put the pedal to the metal to send one of their own to help build a church in Kenya.

Ben Elmsley, aged 17, will travel to the village of Ulumbi in the African country for two weeks to help add the finishing touches to the church which has largely been funded by donations by the group.

St Georges has a long-standing link with the village, and Ben will travel alongside organiser Brian Humphreys, who has visited Ulumbi for the several years.

Members of the church’s youth group Relevant rode along the Strawberry Line on Sunday to help fund Ben’s trip, and raised £360.
