Charity curry night raises £436

THE mayor and mayoress of Weston hosted a charity meal at an Indian restaurant in aid of two organisations.
Councillor Philip Judd and his wife Wendy held the event at the Bengal Raj restaurant in the Boulevard on April 13 and raised £436.
The night was arranged by restaurant owner Zamshed Alam and manager Mohammed Islam who donated 75per cent of the takings to the mayor’s charities Friend and RNLI.
Cllr Judd said: “I would like thank both Mr Alam and all the people who came along and supported the mayoress and myself. The generosity of everyone involved is very much appreciated.”
