A YOUNG mum who died of cancer was remembered at a charity extravaganza.

The event, held at Hutton Football Club’s ground on Saturday, was held in memory of Mandy Jones, who died aged 37 as a result of melanoma.

Proceeds raised at the event will be shared between the Mandy Jones 4 U charity, which aims to raise awareness of skin cancer in North Somerset; Weston Hospicecare, which treated Mandy during her final months; and the football club.

Two charity matches took place – one pitted the boys’ under-12s team against the girls’ under-13s team, and the other saw the Hutton legends take on the club’s under-16 team.

There was also football games, face-painting, refreshments and music.
