A COMMUNITY charity has expanded its work to develop new projects across five of North Somerset's schools.

XTND, which is based in Bournville Primary School in Selworthy Road, has been commissioned to work with the Weston Education Trust.

The trust is made up of Windwhistle, Bournville, Oldmixon, Walliscote and Milton Park primary schools.

It aims to enhance pupils’ lives, not just through the curriculum but also in bringing about opportunities which would not normally be available.

The trust also works with North Somerset Council, Bristol Water, Sidcot School and The Cooperative School Society.

Lynn Winter, XTND development manager said: “We are thrilled and excited at the prospect of working with the Weston Education Trust and its partners.

“As XTND we have already made valuable contacts in the area and hope to build on the work already undertaken by the trust within the community.”

XTND is planning a celebration event to be held on the Grand Pier to celebrate its achievements.
