TWENTY teams competed in a charity golf day which raised thousands for Weston Hospicecare.

The event, organised by Weston’s BWOC Ltd, was held at Weston Golf Club and included all 18 holes being sponsored by companies and organisations from around the town.

Prizes were handed out for the longest drive and the event included a buffet, silent auction and a raffle, and pulled in £3,700 for the hospice.

Steve Corrick, financial director of BWOC, said: “We have supported the hospice for about 15 years and see it as a vital service among our community. We are all very passionate in ensuring that we raise as much money as we can for the organisation.”
