A CHARITY event held in memory of a dad who died suddenly proved a success despite adverse weather conditions.

The clay shooting event on Bleadon Hill on Sunday was held in memory of Jerry Price, who died after a fall from a ladder at his home in Locking Castle in 2010.

Proceeds from the event will go the Wallace and Gromit appeal for Bristol Children’s Hospital, where Mr Price’s partner Hayley Brooks works as a sister.

The event, which was sponsored by Honeywell Engineering, Bespoke Manufacturing and Manuflex Engineering, has so far raised more than £200.

Organiser and Mr Price’s childhood friend Sean Honeywell said: “It was a good day despite the weather which was horrendous.”
