A young girl guide has been praised for giving up her own time to support the community.
Jessica Way is the first Cheddar guide to achieve the Lions Young Leader In Service (YLiS) Gold Award.
She was presented with the accolade during the Axbridge District Guide Service at Wedmore’s St Mary’s Church.
She has completed 206.5 hours of community service in the past year.
The well-deserved award was presented to her by the Cheddar Vale Lions Club.
Jessica also received her Young Leader Award from the district commissioner.
Friends of Cheddar Vale Lions member Bev Davies also received an award, commending her for 20 years of service to the Girl Guide Association.
