PROTESTERS will meet outside Weston's Tropicana on Saturday to voice their anger at the decision to demolish the iconic site.
Five months after North Somerset Council submitted its application to the Secretary of State, Eric Pickles gave the green light to tear down the former pool which has been disused since 2000.
Despite repeated attempts to save the crumbling building, including a bid from campaign group Trop (WSM) Ltd, he said he believed there is ‘no alternative but to demolish the site’.
A demonstration against the decision will be held at noon outside the Tropicana and organisers Rita Granner and Sam Leadbeater are encouraging more to show their support.
There will also be a cheerleader display to promote the cause. For more details contact Sam on 07887 891652 or Rita on 07972 332794.
