More than £2,000 has been given to Weston Hospicecare following a 1960s celebration.

David Kingsbury put on an All Sixties Night at Weston Football Club last month, raising £2,124 for the charity.

The event, which featured performances from Chrystal Bliss and The Berries, has taken the total raised for the hospice over the past four years to more than £6,500.

Weston Hospicecare community fundraiser Sue Harding said: “Thank you to David, and everyone else who helped run the event or simply went along and enjoyed themselves – your support means a lot to us all.”

A number of businesses also sponsored the event and donated raffle prizes.

David added: “More than 170 people attended the event and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

“I could not have done the event without the support of these sponsors and all those companies who provided excellent raffle prizes.”
