Coastguards and hovercraft crews were called to Weston-super-Mare beach yesterday (Wednesday) after two children were reported missing.
Weston coastguards were assisted by crews from Burnham-on-Sea and BARB Search and Rescue at around 3.30pm to search for the youngsters.
A coastguard spokesman said: “There was concern from the parents, who had lost sight of their two children for a length of time with an incoming tide.”
Police and beach wardens also joined the search and the children were found safe and well.
