Five Gold Rings begins on Thursday, with the Mercury and Weston Business Improvement District teaming up to give away four prizes worth £500 at the late-night shopping events in town.

Parking will be free in the Sovereign Shopping Centre after 3pm and lucky winners will walk away with the perfect present for a loved one.

The first night of the competition coincides with the illumination of Weston’s Christmas lights in the Italian Gardens, with the festivities starting at 5pm.

Britain’s Got Talent’s Marvin Muoneke will wow the crowd with his smooth vocals before switching on the lights with mayor Mike Lyall at 6pm.
