WALKERS who want to raise cash for churches in the Cheddar area are urged to join an event next month.

The Friends of Somerset Churches and Chapels (FSCC) has organised a Church Crawl 2008, which will take place on March 15 at 2pm.

The walk will start at St James' Church in Winscombe, followed by St John the Baptist Church in Axbridge. Participants will then end up at St Andrew's Church in Cheddar where teas will be available for £4 per person.

FSCC is an independent trust which raises money for the repair of Christian churches and chapels. It exists to encourage greater interest in churches and to get the community interested in the heritage of the building.

For more details and to book a place, write to Simon Colledge, 13 Middle Path, Crewkerne, Somerset, TA18 8BG. To become a member of the trust call Gill Hawkings on 01749 672327.
