A fish and chip supper has raised more than £300 for Weston-super-Mare’s Scanner Appeal.
Members from Bournville’s St Andrew’s Church, in Lonsdale Avenue, and Bleadon’s Church of St Peter and St Paul, in Coronation Road, teamed up on Shrove Tuesday to celebrate lent with a fundraising event.
Fifty-five people from the two churches enjoyed the delicious meal, listened to live music and took part in a raffle.
Lesley Taylor, a member of the fundraising committee, said: “It was fantastic and everybody had a great time. Who knows, one day we may benefit from the scanner.”
