Churchill and Langford Minibus Society has received a new vehicle and hopes to ‘extend coverage’ to other villages and communities.
The society, which has been operating in the villages for more than 40 years, has received a community minibus grant from the Department of Transport.
The society has used the money to buy a new 12-seater vehicle, which has been converted to include disability access. This is the second vehicle owned by the society, and members now plan to roll out the service to other villages.
The group aims to ‘combat social isolation’ by working with care home residents, offering trips sponsored by local businesses.
A spokesman for the society said: “We are indebted to the local parish councils who have provided financial support.”
