THE WHITE Hart in Cheddar celebrated its fourth annual cider festival by raising more than £1,000 for charity.

Festival-goers were to sample the 12 different local ciders during the festival of all varieties, from sweet to dry.

The festival raised the money for the Children’s Hospice South West by organising a raffle and having a slave auction with all the pub staff.

There was music from Somerset acts with singer Kayleigh entertaining the crowd on Friday evening.

On Saturday there was a group of young talent playing throughout the afternoon with Cheddar Blues Band playing in the evening.

To finish off the weekend, duo Sublime played in the afternoon.

Landlady Tracey Chidzey said: “It was a fantastic weekend.

“It was very busy with locals and tourists both coming.

“There was a lovely atmosphere and it was nice to have a family orientated event.

“The place was packed out and it was really well supported.”
