A classic car show took place in the town square on New Year’s Day, with vehicles from the 1920s right through to the 1990s.

Organiser Keith Palmer said he plans to run events in Grove Park every month from May until September this year. He told the Mercury: “The new year’s day event was a really good turn out.

“I have been doing classic car shows in Weston and the district for 43 years.

“We had 35 cars turn up to this one, but in the past we have had up to 80 vehicles on show.”
