A new village sign has been installed in Claverham, after it was revealed the village’s previous boundary sign was wrongly positioned.

The new sign has been placed on Claverham Road, near the junction with Stowey Park, while the old sign was located further along the road towards the village centre.

The position of the new sign led many villagers to believe it had been installed in the wrong place – but Yatton parish councillor Jonathan Edwards said it was in fact the old sign which had been in the wrong place for several years.

Cllr Edwards said: “There are a number of people who think they live in Yatton, but that was a mistake. The Yatton and Claverham boundary is where the new sign is – the sign is now in the correct place.”
