A North Somerset village held its showpiece event this week, with villagers turning out in numbers to bask in the sunshine and enjoy a range of activities.

Cleeve’s Field Day was held on Saturday, bringing the community together for a day of entertainment.

Unrelenting sunshine and scorching temperatures offered the perfect setting for the event, which was jam-packed with activities.

The King George V Playing Fields were busy with stalls and musical performances, plus a game of cricket, meaning there was something for everyone.

The Cadbury Sax Band delighted guests with their perfectly-executed up-tempo performances, while others enjoyed perusing the stalls selling various homemade treats.

Children also took part in keenly-contested races across the fields, with the winners receiving prizes.

The event coincided with Cleeve Cricket Club’s three-day beer festival, which showcased a range of craft ales and local musicians.
