Cliff rescue after two people ‘fell 50ft’

TWO people were rescued from a cliff after falling an estimated 50ft.

Fire crews and a specialist rescue team attended Cheddar Gorge yesterday (Friday) at around 5.30pm.

A spokesman from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said two people are believed to have fallen 50ft onto a ledge on a cliff face.

One of the casualties had possible pelvic injuries and was picked up by a search and rescue helicopter and taken to hospital.

The other was rescued by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
