PERMISSION has been granted to light up an historic clock in a Somerset town.

PERMISSION has been granted to light up an historic clock in a Somerset town.

The Axbridge Town Trust, the group behind the changes to the 1846 time piece on the front of the town hall, was given consent by Sedgemoor District Council last week.

Although the work had already been done, the trust was waiting for full permission before switching on the clock.

The low level LED lighting is positioned within the existing clock and does not compromise the historic nature of the recently restored face or listed building.
