BREAST cancer patients at Weston General Hospital have been the recipients of hand-made breast cushions from the Burnham Inner Wheel Club.
The club’s president Janet Breed, and member Rita Jolliffe presented the 27 cushions to Claire Garnell, the Head Macmillan nurse at the hospital, where they will be used by patients recuperating from surgery.
The club are currently the only organisation providing the specially-made silk cushions, which help patients recover from operations and help with their pain.
Club member Sandra Moon said: “We’re very pleased we can help people who have suffered from cancer by making these cushions, we’ve heard from the nurses that the patients really appreciate them.”
