MOTORBIKE enthusiasts were all revved up to hand over a charitable donation of £500 for Help for Heroes.
Members of Van Dieman Motorcycle Club, based at the Borough Arms in Weston, raised the money throughout the year at weekly meetings.
Club spokesman Chris Healey said the charity was picked because many of the members were ex-servicemen. The club, originally based at The Brewers Arms in Banwell, is named after the old Dutch name for Tasmania.
It was chosen to represent a story about two men from Banwell who were extradited to the country after stealing horses in the 1840s.
