Paramedics and the UK Coastguard were called to Weston-super-Mare’s seafront this afternoon (Wednesday) to help a woman who had injured her hip.

The elderly woman was assisted at a cafe near Anchor Head at about 4.45pm.

A Coastguard spokesman said: “We assisted the ambulance service in helping a lady who had suffered a hip injury.

“She was in a cafe near the seafront and they (paramedics) needed help to get her up into the ambulance.”
