THE Coastguard were called to Burnham this afternoon when a kitesurfer lost his board and got dragged into the water by his kite.
A nearby fisherman saw the man struggling at 2.50pm this afternoon and called the Coastguard.
Luckily the 43-year-old was washed ashore before the rescue team arrived and they stood down.
A Coastguard spokesman said: “He was quite relieved to get to shore. We always appeal to the public to call us and the fisherman did the right thing.”
The man, who was wearing a wetsuit, was unhurt.
