A YOUNG boy was rescued from mud after getting stuck on Brean Beach yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

Burnham Area Rescue Boat (BARB) launched its rescue hovercraft, which was joined by two Coastguard crews at about 3.30pm.

The boy got stuck up to his knees in the mudflats and his parents called for help.

Two coastguards helped to free the boy, who was uninjured, before he was taken to safety.
