Doctor Who fanatics and comic book lovers were out in full force last weekend for Weston-super-Mare's Comic Con.

Marvel superheroes, transformers, Star Wars characters and even Captain Jack Sparrow made an appearance at the two-day event.

Around 4,000 people filled the Tropicana, in Marine Parade, to share their love for comic book and sci-fi heroes and villains.

Former Doctor Who actor Sylvester McCoy, who was the seventh timelord, was at the event signing autographs.

S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt, Andrew Lee Potts from Primeval and Clem So from Doctor Strange were also on hand to pose for photos and great their fans.

Organiser David Burrows said: “It went really well and it was packed all weekend. It was better than last year and we hope to improve it even more for the winter Comic Con and next year.”

There will be another Comic Con event on December 3 at the Tropicana.
