A group of people who live in the centre of Weston-super-Mare amd want to build more community spirit in their area are inviting people to meet them this weekend.

A Community Matters Forum will be held at the Friends Meeting House, in High Street, on Sunday.

The forum is made up of a growing number of people living in the town who want to collect people’s opinions on what is needed to support the community.

They are working to create a community neighbourhood plan which will run alongside North Somerset Council’s regeneration projects and people will also be asked for their views on a new community hub in central Weston.

The hub is being backed by Central ward residents and councillors and could provide services including a GP surgery and a children’s centre.

The meeting will feature guest speakers before an open discussion. It will begin at 2pm and last until approximately 4pm, with representatives from Pride, 1in4, and Heart Of Weston due to speak.
