A VILLAGE flower show saw budding gardeners young and old make floral art, crafts, cakes and wood carvings.

A host of prizes were handed out to green-thumbed competitors of all ages from five-year-old Ollie Dadds to 109-year-old Mary Bearne at the Uphill Horticultural Show at the Victory Hall on Saturday. Show secretary Liz Britton said: “Many colourful exhibits were enjoyed by visitors with a wonderful variety of vegetables and flowers despite the bad weather. The great community atmosphere meant everyone had a marvellous time.”
