A COMPLAINING councillor who has reported dozens of other members has put his pen to paper yet again.

After receiving a court fine for putting up posters advertising events at his house, Chris Byrne has written another letter of complaint.

He did this, despite racking up an estimated £120,000 in fees, which taxpayers could fork out for investigations to be carried out.

Mr Byrne, who organises events at Wavering Down House in Cross, the former home of comedian Frankie Howerd, says he is being 'picked on' for putting up the poster.

He said: "Plenty of other people put posters around the village advertising sales and events.

"I was just picked on because some people don't like me in the village.

"As for the complaints I have made about councillors, it is my democratic right to do so.

"They are a bunch of cronies and if I believe there is corruption going on, of course I will lodge a complaint."

After the advertising dispute, which was reported to Sedgemoor District Council, Mr Byrne had to cough up an £800 fine and almost £200 in costs.

He has made more than 100 complaints to the Standards Committee against parish councillors from various villages.
