Hundreds of pounds have been handed to a village theatre group, which will use the cash to buy a piano.

Yatton Freemason Lodge of Agriculture handed a cheque worth
a whopping £411 to Congresbury-based charity AppleShed Inclusive Theatre.

AppleShed, which hopes to encourage people with and without disabilities to interact together, has vowed to spend the cash on a piano which will be used for stage shows.

The theatre group meets at Congresbury War Memorial Hall, in High Street, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings during term-time, with sessions for young children and adults.

A spokesman for the theatre group said: “We believe people can grow when everyone works together in a safe, yet challenging and fun environment and this produces an excellent standard of performing arts.”
